Package delivery and Logistics
Here’s how to properly package your deliveries before shipping.

Firstly, packaging, especially as an online store is a very essential method of communicating your brand to the customer. For example, there are so many packaging materials, and what you need is dependent on the size and type of item to be delivered.

What do I need to properly pack my parcels for delivery?

Some of the essentials needed to package your items include:

  1. Cello tapes, Bubble wraps
  2. Brown paper boxes or cartons
  3. Staplers, flier bags and sacks (as applicable)
  4. Markers or Pens

How do I package my items? (most suitable for 1kg or less)

This an easy step-by-step guide to pack items less than 1kg:

  • First of all, place item in a box.
  • Next, carefully place enough bubble wrap into the box, to serve as a cushioning to the product or parcel.
  • Ensure there is two to three inches space between the item and the box.
  • Tape the seams properly, and ensure item is compact. In other words, this is a very key process in package delivery, especially when sending freight (cargo and air freight).
  • Address all packages appropriately. Specifically state landmarks to ease item drop off.

Therefore, the correct way to write an address is: House/Building Number, Street Name, Landmark, Estate (if applicable), City, LGA (for intrastate deliveries), and Country (for international deliveries).
